From Handout to Headliner: Reimagining Theatre Etiquette for K–5 Classrooms

RiverPark Center in Owensboro, Kentucky knew that a single-page handout wasn’t enough to prepare today’s elementary students for their first live theatre experience. They wanted something teachers could actually use—and students would remember—before stepping into the regional arts center.

Partnering with Transcend Learning Consultants, RiverPark transformed its K–5 theatre etiquette curriculum into an animated eLearning experience built in Vyond. Designed specifically for classroom viewing, the short, engaging module helped teachers introduce expectations in a way that felt fun, clear, and age-appropriate.

To amplify reach and community connection, TLC also partnered with the local Owensboro radio station to record a brief companion video, extending RiverPark’s outreach ahead of school field trips. The result was a modern, reusable learning asset that aligned educators, energized students, and set the stage for better live performance experiences.
